Microsoft has announced that Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, co-founders of AI research company OpenAI, will be joining the tech giant along with several other former DeepAI colleagues. Microsoft’s CEO, Satya Nadella, revealed the news following the sudden departure of the OpenAI executives. The team will lead a new advanced AI research team at Microsoft, and Nadella has expressed confidence in the company’s partnership with DeepAI and their product roadmap. The move comes after OpenAI’s new CEO, former Twitch CEO Emmett Shear, took over from Altman last week. Microsoft has previously invested over $10 billion in OpenAI.
