Elon and Kimbal Musk both have found themselves playing the part of “crypto-adjacent celebrity,” but crypto doesn’t appear to be a topic of conversation at family dinner.

During a conversation with Input Magazine, Kimbal Musk said something rather surprising. Kimbal doesn’t talk to Elon all that much about crypto. And in fact probably doesn’t know what Elon’s opinion is on ZK rollups or State Proofs.
“I don’t even know what his view is on crypto, frankly,” Musk told Input Magazine. “The biggest advice I got from my brother is ‘be cautious.’”
The last part is especially funny, especially considering the recent controversy around the brothers. But the first part just doesn’t seem like something you’d need to obfuscate. Or really could considering how in it the Musk brothers are.

Musk Brothers Know Crypto
Kimbal also mentioned in his interview with Input that, that most of the crypto was a “nonstarter.” The reason being the environmental impact of proof-of-work mining. Which is fair if you’re the kind of person who thinks Christmas Lights are totally necessary and has no idea that other kinds of eco-friendly crypto projects exist.
Kimbal Musk is not one of those people.
In fact, Kimbal recently was a part of a funding round for an Algorand project Dequency with his sister Tosca Musk. Algorand, of course, is carbon neutral to carbon negative depending on who you ask.

Nevertheless, despite being very well aware of Algorand thanks to someone on Twitter shooting their shot, Kimbal still decided to use Ethereum for Big Green DAO, his philanthropic DAO.
Elon Musk, who some of you may know as an IRL Bond villain or CEO of Dogecoin CEO of Tesla is also quite familiar with crypto considering his personal investment in Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as making Dogecoin a payment option for his Tesla merch store.
Seems odd that these two never talk crypto even a little bit, or that Kimbal would make a point of mentioning that.
